Invisible Stuff: This is the kind of stuff that grows slowly like moss, so
you don’t notice until it begins to choke off your breathing space. It’s
stuff like scratched eyeglasses, broken watches, the battery pack from a
camera you no longer own, the wrong color lipstick, worn out sandals you
never wear anymore, an outdated calendar with nice pictures of Montana on
it, and old ugly pieces of unmatched tableware in the tool box next to rusty
wire cutters you will never use. You know this stuff belongs in the trash,
but who can take on such a huge project?
Don’t fall for the fallacy of the One Big Swoop. Don’t
waste a perfectly good Sunday by tying a kerchief around your head, putting
on an apron and attacking the junk. I know you think you’ll get finished
once and for all, but this kind of invisible stuff keeps growing like weeds
in your garden. You get rid of them one day and they’re back the next.
There’s simply no way to get rid of it once and for all.
So, what can you do?
