Beginning to Look at Diet (& Allergy) Implications: Messages to the Colon

A body that is dehydrated is stressed and what creates stress is drying. Challenging foods are drying. Large areas of the body will be cut off from the general circulation. Most importantly, they will be very dehydrated. This implies that anything that is put into the body will create a challenge to the degree that the person is dehydrated. The least challenging of diets is required. It must be swollen, with water-holding foods dominant, and as near to neutral pH as possible.

If we consider that the being is a vibration, and that the being may be full up with rubbish, the vibration is going to be quite tight. But, if that being is very relaxed and fluid, the vibration is quite different. The more easily the body fluids are flowing, the more sensitive the person will become to subtler vibrations, showing that increasing the hydration in a person enables them to be firstly more in touch with themselves on all levels and secondly more in touch with their greater, immediate environment.

When I talk to people about the frighteningly stuck concept of allergies (and I am referring to food allergies) I find disbelief around the area of how I persuade a patient not to eat the foods they react to. Indeed, I am often asked about how I view allergies. All food is alien to the body. It comes from outside. It is part of the environment. When you put it in your mouth and eat it, it creates a challenge, it creates a vibration.

If you are very 'dry' all food challenges you a lot: some foods challenge you more than others. Wheat and chocolate, for example, present an enormous challenge. If the body is dehydrated, it produces a lot of histamine in response to the challenge, and this is the allergy picture. Whatever creates the allergic response is too challenging, because of the degree of dehydration, and leads on to further dehydration.

Pesticides, additives and artificial chemicals found on or in foods for example will always have the effect of reducing the body's natural ability to cleanse itself. So, when I explain how each food has a different vibration and point out that, when you are very dry and stuck, many foods which come in with their own vibration cause havoc and make the body even drier, I find co-operation without any problem.

What we are doing in healing, remember, is removing the stresses and strains so that the body can heal itself. Foods, supplements, therapies, all can create too much of a challenge. This is why I advise going back to very gentle treatment. Bring the vitality up very gradually.

Since we are talking about re-hydration at cellular level, just drinking lots of water is not going to be re-hydrating, if that is all that is done. I suspect that it is the colon which gives the body the message about whether it is dehydrated or not. "Bulkers" are needed to give the body the message "I've got a nice lot of water here". The colon is the water reservoir of the body and water taken in the foods you eat will present a much stronger message to the body as it is in touch with the wall of the colon, the center from where everything starts. The colon is in touch with the brain and gives the messages to the brain.

So the diet is a very 'swollen' diet, using foods that hold a lot of fluid. The fluid in the food, rather than just the fluid you drink, gives the hydration messages via the colon. The main "colon food" is rice, which holds more water than almost anything else. Rice should be organic, short grain brown rice if at all possible. All long grain rice is hybridized and the body cannot deal with it as easily as short grain rice. The message from the rice is a strong one because of the amount of water it can hold. It is stronger than that from fruit or vegetables. If for example you are not eating starches and using just fruit and vegetables in your diet, you need psyllium as the bulker.

Aloe vera used with psyllium is probably the strongest message you can convey to the body that the dehydration alert is not necessary. A note about aloe vera: you should look at the muco-polysaccharide count in the aloe vera that you use. Some brands have very little, or none at all. You need a high count as we are trying to return integrity to the immune system. For sheer bulk, there is nothing like rice plus psyllium, to give the body the message that it can let go. It is then dealing with plenty of bulky, water-holding food.

Linseeds (also called flaxseeds) are one of the oldest known remedies for soothing inflammation in the colon. It is not possible to have inflammation anywhere in the body without first having it in the colon. You will need to think about why the linseeds are included in the diet. For vegetarians they may also be there for their protein value, not just in the context that we are thinking of here. Linseeds are one of the richest sources of the omega-3 EFAs. Fish oils are a rich source and more easily assimilable for those with low body temperature, but they are often polluted, also vegetarians will not want to include fish in their diet.

Those with weak digestions will make big demands on their enzymes if they take linseeds. When people have low body temperature, they will not be able to use the oils within whole linseeds until their body temperature comes up, when flaxseed oil itself can also be used. Whole linseeds are important however because they will give desirable bulk as well as, when they are pre-soaked for about 8 hours, being soothing to the colon, especially for loose stools. They also start to give a reassuring EFA message to the body whereas if your body temperature is lower than say 97.5 degrees Fahrenheit/36.5 degrees Centigrade (normal is 98.6 Fahrenheit and 37 Centigrade) use of the flaxseed oil itself will simply depress the body.

Anything that causes stress and challenges you makes you dehydrated. When you eat, there is a very challenging response that goes on in the body. Each food holds its own vibration. All food creates a vibrational challenge to the body, especially to the fluid component. Therefore, if someone is very dry, they can only deal with a very gentle vibration in their food as even this will create enough stress to increase the dehydration. The sleepy or heavy after-effect that eating has is more noticeable in some people than in others: it is the response to the challenge of food and the digestion of it.

You will find it is helpful to drink a pint of body-temperature water half an hour before you eat, especially if you have allergic reactions to foods. We can easily understand how foods with an extremely strong vibration are not useful at any time, but especially when the person is weakened and dry. Cheese, chocolate and bread are particularly challenging. Thus certain foods will create more stress, hence the allergic reaction.

Using nutritional advice, I recommend a diet that is not going to create further stress, in order to create some spare energy and some movement. Using pulses (lentils, beans, etc), rice and vegetables is the best way to cleanse and to stabilize blood sugar. The ideal mix for a meal is 45% rice or millet, 45% vegetables, and 10% protein. Avoid salt, sugar, tea, coffee, sweet drinks, alcohol, chocolate: these all act as drugs and are also diuretics.

Proportions of raw and cooked depend on the season. Eat the raw first, not after, be it fruit or vegetable. Be aware that raw will create more elimination than cooked, whilst desirability of the rate of elimination depends on the season. The body does not like to detoxify and eliminate in the winter. Below is an outline of the main food groups and how they are perceived in our approach.

bulletGrains. These foods are capable of holding the greatest amounts of water. There is a strict hierarchy of acceptability to the body, from millet which is the least challenging, through short-grain brown rice, with a big jump before we get to barley, then oats, rye and finally wheat. Wheat is the most challenging and greatly over-used. A very helpful first step would be to eat lots of rice and millet, which give the right messages (about water) to both the brain and the colon.
bulletVegetables. Use a variety of different vegetables each day. Try to choose those which grow around you, when they are in season. A mixture of raw and cooked vegetables is best, the proportion depending on the season.
bulletFruits. Fruits are aggressive cleansers and amounts may need to be limited until health improves somewhat - especially tropical fruits which are very aggressive in effect.
bulletProteins. The most challenging is pork, followed in order by beef, lamb, fowl, fish, sprouted seeds and pulses (lentils, beans, etc). It is strongly advisable to have 2 days per week free from all animal products. (You are free not to use any animal protein at all).
bulletDairy Products. Avoid using the milk of another species. Rice, oat, almond, soya milks and butters are available and use should be rotated.
bulletOils. Eliminate saturated fats and maximize the use of Essential Fatty Acids, using cold-pressed olive oil for cooking.
