The Interaction of Water and Fats in the Body (& aloe vera)

Essential Fatty Acids (EFAs) have been grossly deficient in our diets, and saturated fats so prevalent, just as sodium and calcium have been prevalent and potassium and magnesium have been deficient. The imbalances have gone together. And furthermore, people certainly have not drunk anywhere near enough water on a regular and long term basis. The great need for body fluids is related to the ability to produce a temperature.

What does the body do if it feels dehydrated? The body produces cholesterol, but I actually think that the body also produces mucus. The mucus and the cholesterol are put around the cell membrane. This coats the membrane (outer wall of the cell) and thus preserves the cell fluid. This measure works effectively in the short term, but in the long term you will become very ill because every day you have to have the movement of sodium (Na) and calcium (Ca) into the cell, and every night you have to have the potassium (K) and magnesium (Mg) entering the cell to displace them (refer to Diagram 1).

On dehydration alert, which will be evident in everyone with chronic illnesses, the body will be producing cholesterol and extra mucus to protect the cells. During the day, that cholesterol and mucus loading is going to increase and the mobile fluid, the hydrated part of the body, is going to get less and less. This mechanism helps the body to protect the cell but this, of course, is a very insular thing to do, because it closes off the cell and stops the cell responding to that day-night, Sun-Moon activity. This, in turn, stops the person responding to that greater whole or everything, in fact, that is going on in the Universe.

In the book "The Mutant Message Down Under" we are referred to as 'the mutants' because we need to drink so much. The Aborigines are the longest surviving line in close connection with natural environmental conditions and they see us as out of touch because we are so dehydrated. It seemed to me that there must be a missing link in the situation of us needing this water and yet not being able to use it to rehydrate the cells. We drink it, but then what?

I came across research on Aloe Vera that explains that the substances in this juice which are so valuable to us are the muco-polysaccharides. These are long-chain sugars. So I started to investigate what these muco-polysaccharides were, how we made them and where we put them. I found that it is said that we produce them in our bodies until we hit puberty. Then we lose the ability to make them, and we have to get them from our diet.

I question this, knowing that all tests on this subject will have been done since the last World War. This does not give a fair impression of the capabilities of a human body: you would need to look back pre the Industrial Revolution for that. I think that the body's natural state would be to be able to produce them throughout our lives. At puberty, these muco-polysaccharides get involved with fatty acids to produce prostaglandins which produce hormones. At puberty, these are very important.

Where does the body put the extra mucus, and where do we find the muco-polysaccharides? The latter should be coating the membrane of all cells. Muco-polysaccharides are also found lining the lungs and are responsible for the exchange of gasses. Further, they are inside all joints. They are actually supposed to be in all the places where we instead end up laying down mucus! They are also supposed to be coating the entire gastro-intestinal tract, where their purpose is to give the correct charge to the minerals as they enter the body. When the minerals have the right charge, they can target where they belong: they will be usable.

People who take supplements before they have muco-polysaccharides introduced to the gut wall will just have the minerals 'hanging about' not knowing where to go (due to the incorrect electrical charge) and causing an extra stress to the body.

I suspect this is the reason why muco-polysaccharides are one of the most powerful moisturizers. They are the missing part of the picture of maintaining the body fluids in the right places. They are also anti-inflammatory. If you take an aloe leaf and cut it, it does not even drip, it holds its fluid. The Aborigines would have been eating a diet which would have aloe in it. It gives an insight into what a "moisturizer" is. When someone has been 'moisturized', especially with aloe vera high in muco-polysaccharides, there is a very different feel to the tissues, which tactile people can feel. If you give enough aloe vera to your pets, you can see the difference, the softness in your animals, after that kind of treatment too. You can perceive the relaxation in the muscles, and feel it.

When you start increasing water and add a non-threatening diet plus muco-polysaccharides in the form of whole-leaf aloe vera concentrate, then all sorts of dynamic things can start to happen. You will begin rebalancing the body fluids and releasing mucus. You will begin reducing fear in the body from the long term lack of water. The last thing we want to do is to stress the existing level of hydration. So we have to reduce the mucus load in order to increase the active part of the body.

Intellectually, the response would be to put in the things which appear to be deficient. We must first feed the cells with what they really need for increased movement to take place. But if you simply feed deficiencies, people still do not get better. I repeat that I suggest this is because the hydration of the body is further threatened by the supplements being piled in and the body is put back on dehydration alert. It reverts to producing mucus and cholesterol to encapsulate the cells and keep them out of communication in order to protect the water within. Once you make the body feel comfortable that it is not on alert, it will stop producing the cholesterol.

The next stage is about dealing with the dehydration at cellular level - about opening the cells. If you start drinking a lot of water, that is simply providing the water. That alone is not changing the dehydration picture at cellular level. It is this cellular level dehydration which characterizes so many conditions which we see, including the CFS/ME picture. In order to understand how we can help the re-hydration process, we need to consider the water/fats relationship as it exists in the body.

The day/night cleansing cycle within cells is the basic movement that has to take place in every animal living on this planet. Once again, with day/night cleansing the Sun pushes sodium and calcium inside the cell, during the daytime, when we are upright and very active. This changes at night, when we are lying down and, if we are adequately hydrated (this involves EFAs and magnesium as well as water), the Moon pulls the sodium and calcium out and across the cell membranes.

In the course of our lives this very basic movement becomes diminished more and more. The less this is happening the sicker the person tends to be, therefore the less interactive this person must be with the Sun and the Moon. More and more the body is becoming cut off as is explained in the Day/Night Cleansing Cycle section - both within itself and also in its connection with the greater whole.

But, when the dehydration alert has stopped due to drinking enough water daily - on a long term basis - and the body has thus very slowly started to be rehydrated - the body temperature changes, moving back towards normal (98.6 degrees Fahrenheit or 37 degrees Centigrade). This has a big effect on the body's ability to handle fats. You will see, in the "Misuse of Fats" section, how the handling of fats, especially the Essential Fatty Acids, is linked intimately with the body's ability to handle B6, and thus ultimately Mg usage, to enable nightly cleansing.

We will be working to put back the correct kind of coating on the cell membrane, the kind that will allow movement in and out. The electrical contact between the cells, their ability to respond, will increase. This increased response (reactivity) will be reflected on other levels which become correspondingly more in touch with the greater whole (both inner and outer).

It is only by working with the water and the EFAs that one can achieve movement. The ultimate aim of this kind of work is to reduce fear, fear of change, fear of movement. I have found a remarkable response among patients to the effects of water, used in the ways that I am presenting to you. For example, the left side of the person, the feminine side, starts to be noticeable.

There will be movement on the higher levels as well, not just the physical. We can look at a further link with the spiritual level. If you bless water, you find that hydrogen peroxide becomes detectable in it. Good aloes have hydrogen peroxide in them. It is recognized that oxygen in food and in water is for feeding the physical body, whereas oxygen in the form of hydrogen peroxide is about spiritual feeding and spiritual growth. All the levels are linked in this kind of nurturing and growth.
