Answer these "Dozen Direct Questions About Your Career" with a
simple Yes or
No:
- Am I pleased when I answer the question: "Where do you work?"
- Do I like the people with whom I work most closely?
- Am I making the money I deserve?
- Do I feel good about my work when I wake up in the morning?
- Do I have the time and resources at my job to produce a quality work
product?
- Can I live with the pace of my work?
- Is the work I do worthwhile?
- Do I have the time and energy to enjoy my life outside work?
- Am I able to articulate and meet my employer’s and my own expectations?
- Is there challenge and variety at my work?
- Do I feel I have a future where I work?
- Do I wish I had someone else’s job?
Your answers to these questions are key in the self-assessment process.
Putting #12 aside, the more negative responses you circle, the greater the
urgency to change jobs and to change jobs well!
