The toxins in our foods are at least as ubiquitous as
environmental
toxins. The typical diet of the past few decades has increasingly
included more processed and contaminated foods than ever before: hormones,
steroids, antibiotics, pesticides, additives, waxes, dyes, preservatives,
colorings, irradiation are added to so many foods, mostly without our
knowledge and certainly without our consent. (Did you know irradiation is
now being called "cold pasteurization"?!)
We are exposed to more chemicals, in far greater concentrations from
every source imaginable, than any previous generation.
The plastic
wraps swaddling your fruits, vegetables and meat in your shopping look
harmless enough. So do styrofoam trays that hold them and the plastic
bottles for water, soda, milk, juices, sauces and even infant formula.
But
the phthalates that outgas from all these plastics leach into our foods. Yes,
those styrofoam cups that you line up to buy for your ritual coffee breaks
also poison your body and there is no mechanism for metabolizing or
getting rid of all the carcinogenic styrene.
Scientists have proved that the poison that outgases from the plastic
wrap and plastic trays migrate into food. The plastic film on top doesn't
even have to touch the foods for the outgases to affect them.
We hear about so-called auto-immune "diseases" like lupus, thyroiditis, multiple sclerosis and
hepatitis, but where are the physicians who check styrene and vinyl
chloride levels that can cause these?
The nutrient level of the raw ingredient depends on
so many factors. These include: type, variety and amount of food; size and
maturity of plant; soil quality, chemicals and fertilizers used; age of
animal, rearing quality and feed employed; country of origin, day length,
light intensity, temperature, season, etc. Our foods are grown in depleted soils and no longer contain the levels
of nutrients they did even 50 years ago.
Even organic fruits and
vegetables don't have added nutrients, they are only guaranteed to be
pesticide-free (and some don't even fulfil that promise). Methods of harvesting,
distribution and storage destroy even more of the depleted nutrients.
Additives and preservatives are also added to "improve" the flavor,
texture, color and shelf life of foods. Fruit, for example, is waxed to
increase its eye appeal, consequently sealing in the toxic herbicides and
pesticides used during farming.
Food is often labeled as free from sugar and
artificial colorings, for example. In these cases watch out for the
artificial sweeteners and natural but isolated colors used instead. They
may be even worse, especially as they will usually be present at unnatural
concentrations.
By the time all this has happened a food has changed from being a
natural plant and/or animal part to an artificial product. The problem
with these artificial products is that they tend to contain chemicals or
natural isolates that the body finds hard to recognize and digest. We are
all like walking time-bombs ready to explode with symptoms.
We don't just wake up one day with a symptom or an illness. We have
been slowly accumulating toxins, for decades, that produce these
situations.
Energy Detox
gives the body the needed boost to start to return integrity to
the body,
enabling it
to reverse
the decades of accumulated poisons.
It does not treat disease.
