Energy Detox: for improved health
Lecithin is an EFA (essential fatty acid) that is
also really an extension of diet rather than a supplement. By that, I mean
that we are not able to get enough in our modern day diets and therefore
it is needed permanently, for health. Use the lecithin granules - the
lecithin in capsules is solvent extracted. Do make sure to use only high
quality lecithin - the container should say that the lecithin is about 75%
phospholipids and with a high proportion of phosphatydilcholine.
Lecithin is a phospholipid, so it is very rich in
phosphorus and also has the desirable 2:1 ratio of Omega 3 and 6. It helps
break down the much needed
Omega 3
oils, so the body can use these oils properly. The fatty acids in
lecithin make it soluble in fat and the phosphates in it also allow
lecithin to be soluble in water. This makes it an emulsifier, acting -
rather like soap - as an interface between water and oils and enables the
body to cleanse better. It is sometimes called "nature's edible
detergent." It keeps fats and cholesterol suspended (technically
"dispersed"). Detergent works the same way to remove the oil and grease
from your dishes and clothes. Water alone won't remove grease - a
dispersing agent must be used.
Since lecithin emulsifies, it breaks down fats as
already mentioned, and will thus beneficially influence fluid balance as
well as liver and body cleansing. Lecithin's solubility
in both water and oils also permits substances including minerals,
vitamins and hormones to pass easily in and out of cells. Lecithin's
ability to emulsify also helps with toxin release. Lecithin also helps the
brain (which is 80% water and 15% EFAs/lecithin).
Lecithin is particularly useful for those with
chronic health problems. For those well enough to hold down a full time
job, for instance, you can get away with taking something like NutriGold's
Magnesium Lipotrope Complex (product code NC096)

.
Warning: If you feel worse when you start taking lecithin, you
are not as healthy as you think. You are taking too much for your body's
current state of health to handle: more toxins are being released from inside
the cells than your body can process. So if you start to feel worse as a
result of taking lecithin, back off and take less lecithin, but persevere:
slowly slowly increasing in tiny stages and amounts, on a weekly basis.
Be especially careful if you have skin problems or
diabetes. Don’t start by taking a lot of lecithin if you have any kind of
skin condition or diabetes. Remember that lecithin can make skin
conditions worse as even more toxins are released than the body can handle
so they get pushed out through the skin (the biggest organ of elimination
in the body). Lecithin can also make diabetes less stable, in the short
term, although it is highly beneficial in the long term.
