Energy Detox: for improved health
Would you eat a food that gives you more energy,
reduces sugar cravings, eases joint and muscle pains, improves skin and
helps with all chronic problems? Would you still eat it if that food was
fat? Well, long live fat!
The right kind of fat is crucial for staying healthy.
The right kind of fat is a good - and necessary - thing. Indeed certain
fats are as essential to us as vitamins and minerals so let's be nice to
fat for a change, make friends with fat! But do be careful which fats you
choose for your friends.
Fats are the least understood of the 50 components
needed to keep the body functioning properly. We are bombarded with
information about the importance of a low-fat diet, but few tell us that
certain fats are vital to our health. There is increasing
recognition that essential fatty acids (EFAs) may well be the most
important but it was not until about 1980 that this began to be
appreciated. Many orthodox nutritionists are only just recognizing the
health advantages.
The Omega-3 EFAs play a vital role in heart disease,
cancer, immune deficiency, energy levels, brain development and
malnutrition. The products made with them inside the body play a role in
the regulation and function of every organ and cell in the human body.
Their wide ranging effects help explain the multitude of benefits linked
to them.
The body requires these special fats that,
among other important functions, make it possible for sufficient oxygen to
reach the cells via the cellular membranes. These fats are highly
oxygen-absorbing. They go bad quickly: this is proof that this special fat
is highly oxygen-absorbing. Anything done to them to stop them spoiling
will spoil their healthful attributes, so they need to be raw, unprocessed
and organic.
Modern-day methods of food production and
distribution mean that we only get about 10% as much Omega-3 EFAs as we
used to 100 years ago whereas we get more than we need of the Omega-6 EFAs
even though the right balance is said to be either 1:1 or 1:2 (twice as
much Omega-6 as -3). As a result, Omega-3 EFAs are probably our most common
modern-day dietary deficiency. Some advanced thinkers are
beginning to believe that EFA deficiency causes as many problems today as
vitamin C deficiency (scurvy) caused in previous centuries. Yet EFAs
cannot be made by the body (that's why they are called "essential"). Therefore taking Omga-3 EFAs could be
described as being an extension of diet rather than a supplement, just
like taking limes and lemons along on long sea voyages used to be so
helpful in preventing diseases before Vitamin C tablets and capsules were
created.
The best
sources of Omega-3 EFAs nowadays are cold-water (oily) fish and flaxseed
oil. Minimum daily requirements are one tablespoon of flaxseed oil (about
3 or 4 capsules); for health improvements two or three tablespoons daily
are needed. However those with health problems will need to work up very
slowly to these levels as their livers cannot easily process fats, even
these much-needed EFAs. (suggested reading: The
Omega-3 Connection by Andrew L. Stoll - or any book on Omega-3 EFAs)
Results can be
particularly good if you add
lecithin
(or the NutriGold "Magnesium Liptrope Complex - NC096) and quality
whole-leaf
aloe vera as
well as the omega-3 EFAs to your diet. (For top quality order all these
from
NutriGold (

EFAs cannot work in the body without
water and the muco-polysaccharides provided by aloe vera. There is a beneficial message received
by the body (via the colon) when we achieve the vital combination of
moisture and fatty acids.
Energy Detox
